Taxis on 2 days general strike in Greece

There is a 2 days general strike coming on Wednesday and Thursday 19th & October 20th, 2011 where taxi owners / drivers are participating. More strikes and movements are expected the forthcoming week along with owners of trucks and tankers.

Also, due to the general strike several stoppages of the rest public transportation means are planned for these two days. More specifically..

Metro: available after 9.00 in the morning on Wed and Thu especially for people wanting to go downtown to protest

Subway: No ISAP (electric trains) available from 05.00 to 10.00 in the Wed’s morning and from 18.00 to the rest of the day. On Thursday there will transportation after 09.00 (morning time).

Busses and trolleys: No busses and trolleys from 05.00 to 09.00 and 21.00 to the end of the shift on Wednesday and Thursday.

Tram: You can find trams in the streets after 8 o’clock in the morning and only until 20.00 for Wednesday. On Thursday there will be available all day, but starting at 08.00 in the morning.
